Communications & Digital Strategist

Job type: Full-time

Compensation: $71,000 – $83,000

Benefits: 100% employer paid medical, dental and vision insurance. 401k with 3% match. Technology stipend. Unlimited PTO.

Location: Hybrid. This is a primarily remote position with the expectation of availability for periodic in-person team and client meetings in New Orleans.

Red Cypress Consulting seeks a Communications & Digital Strategist to support its clients in more effectively leveraging technology, getting their message out and winning progressive change. This is an ideal position for an ambitious strategic thinker looking for a high-growth opportunity with a fast-paced, mission-driven agency.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Principal and other Red Cypress team members to run electoral, advocacy and communications campaigns using mass email, social media, digital ads, online advocacy tools and more

  • Provide expert strategic guidance regarding content strategy, advocacy communications and digital campaigning and organizing

  • Develop and manage project budgets, timelines and work plans

  • Build press lists, manage media relationships, pitch stories and coordinate interviews on behalf of clients

  • Draft and review press releases, messaging memos and other key written deliverables

  • Manage client social media accounts, email marketing systems and websites, including drafting and publishing content

  • Support Red Cypress team with business development, including attending networking events, developing proposals and pitching potential clients

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent writing skills

  • Strong research skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to think strategically

  • Ability to work on tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities

  • Experience managing digital campaigns or communications, including facility with running social media and mass email programs

  • College degree or comparable work experience

  • Deeply held progressive values and passion for social justice

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with community organizing, activism and/or policy advocacy

  • Experience developing communications strategies and advancing strategic narratives

  • Experience managing digital advertising and/or online advocacy platforms

  • Spanish fluency
