About Operation Restoration:

Operation Restoration (OR) supports women and girls impacted by incarceration to recognize their full potential, restore their lives, and discover new possibilities. At OR, we focus on advocacy, education, economic mobility, and true economic equity for our staff, clients, and community. Our goal is to remove financial incentives for incarceration/detention to increase investments in social services, education, and healthcare for all people. Incarceration is defined as confinement in prison, jail, immigrant, youth or military detention, or a deportation facility.

Directly impacted women and girls are those that are or have been incarcerated, arrested, are on probation and/or parole. 

About the Position:

Under the direction of the Special Assistant to President & CEO, the Digital Communications Coordinator is responsible for oversight in all Operation Restoration digital communications.

The Digital Communications Coordinator is responsible for working with the communications team, strategizing social media, newsletter, and other media forms, and creating all digital communications, to garner awareness for Operation Restoration in New Orleans and nationwide.

Duties and Responsibilities:

● Establish procedures and protocols for creation process

● Create design materials, digital media toolkits, content calendars, and overall social

media strategy for Operation Restoration media with communications team

● With the Communications Coordinator, create and maintain communications procedures

● Lead the creation of graphics, videos, and photos for Operation Restoration social media, website, and email campaigns

● Manage Operation Restoration social media and website platforms

  •  Update Operation Restoration website regularly

○ Engage with followers on social media to provide timely responses to inquiries

● Pull analytics for website, newsletter, and social media monthly for Communications Coordinator to analyze

● Make sure all communications platforms and materials follow brand guidelines

● Collaborate with Individual Donor Steward to prepare any design needs for fundraising events or campaigns

● Work with Operation Restoration departments and programs for graphic needs and collateral materials

● Collaborate daily with Operation Restoration staff to build content, share information, and highlight organizational programs

● Perform miscellaneous job-related duties, as assigned

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

● Ability to work collaboratively with others and work with contractors and interns

● Be detailed oriented with strong organizational skills

● Strong written and interpersonal communication skills

● Ability to multi-task and problem solve

● Be comfortable taking appropriate initiative

● 2-4 years of experience working in communications, marketing, public relations, social

media management, or a related field

● 2-4 years of experience in a non-profit setting or a related field

● Commitment to criminal justice reform

● Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects at the same time

● Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing

● Advanced computer skills. Experience with and regular use of Microsoft Office programs

and Google Workspace

● Proficiency with programs including but not limited to Adobe Suite (Premiere,

Photoshop, Illustrator), Canva, Squarespace, etc.

● Graphic design, website design, and editing experience

● Photography and videography skills preferred

● Ability to manage timelines, prioritize multiple products and meet quick turnaround

time

● Ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team
