Communications & Marketing Intern

Central South Carpenters Regional Council (CSCRC) | Metairie

The Central South Carpenters Regional Council (CSCRC) is seeking two motivated and creative Marketing & Communications Interns to support our efforts in sharing the powerful story of our union and its 10,000+ members across Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a mission-driven organization that champions workers’ rights, safe job sites, and fair pay. 

As a non-partisan labor organization affiliated with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, we are committed to growing union membership, increasing market share, and advocating for tradespeople through strategic communication and marketing efforts. Interns will work under the direction of the Director of Communications & Marketing to support internal and external communications across a variety of platforms. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in creating digital and print content including social media posts, website updates, email newsletters, flyers, brochures, and promotional materials. 
  • Help monitor and manage the CSCRC’s social media channels and track engagement. 
  • Conduct research and contribute to the planning and execution of marketing campaigns and events. 
  • Assist with event planning, promotion, and on-site coverage, including taking photos and collecting quotes for future use. 
  • Support internal communication efforts to engage members and staff. 
  • Help maintain media lists and monitor news coverage related to union and industry issues. 
  • Provide general administrative support to the Communications/Marketing team. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. 
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. 
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar). 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. 
  • Interest in labor unions, social justice, or workforce development is a plus.
