Tales of the Cocktail Foundation | New Orleans
Tales of the Cocktail Foundation (TOTCF) is looking for an organized, reliable, and diligent Events Intern to join our team. The TOTCF Events Intern will assist the Events Department in supporting the Foundation’s mission to educate, support and advance the global drinks industry.
The Events Intern will focus on administrative duties regarding the Tales of the Cocktail festival and year-round events programming. The internship is largely remote, but onsite during the 2026 TOTC festival. From July 13-25, 2026, the intern will be responsible for on-site troubleshooting with our Events department including, but not limited to: conference operations, Tasting Rooms, Cocktail Apprentice Program, Spirited Awards, sustainability initiatives and local event initiatives such as Jazz Fest.
Tales of the Cocktail 2026 will be held in New Orleans this coming July 19-24th, creating a unique opportunity to learn and grow with the nonprofit organization as we prepare for our biggest fundraiser of the year. The Events Intern will walk away from this role with the skills, tools and best practices of what goes into planning and creating programming for a large scale event.
Position Availability:
Dec – May 1: 10-15 hours/week | Virtual
May 4 – Mid July 2026: 15-20 hours/week | Virtual
Tales of the Cocktail, July 13-25, 2026: Full-time | In person
August 4 – 28, 2026: 10-15 hours/week | Virtual
NOTE: This internship will be primarily remote and then onsite in New Orleans during the weeks of the events, July 13-25, 2026.
COMPENSATION: Internship pay rates start at $10/hour; All-Inclusive Pass to Tales of the Cocktail 2026
Position Requirements:
- Must be local to the New Orleans area
- Must have use of a vehicle or other reliable transportation
- Must have a laptop
- Knowledge of Google Drive
- Events experience preferred
Essential Core Position Functions & Responsibilities:
- General

- Learn and develop skills with various Foundation platforms including but not limited to: Asana, Airtable, OpenWater, Google Drive, Slack, Whova.
- Administrative duties include meeting coordination, agenda preparation, data coordination, and note-taking.
- Attend weekly virtual Event Planning and Logistics meetings, Team Meetings, and any meetings with external planning partners
- Attend Quarterly Team Retreats in New Orleans as availability permits
- Onsite conference operations
- Assist in executing local errands
- Organize and maintain events databases including data entry and compilation.
- Tales of the Cocktail 2026:

- Assist the Events team:
- Organize and update materials and databases for Tasting Rooms, Meet the Distillers, and Seminars (as needed), including but not limited to creating staff event binders and email communications
- Bookstore & Bitters Market
- Assist in email communications
- Manage signing schedule
- Add schedule to Whova
- Invite authors/sponsors to their signing via Google Calendar
- Coordinate with ticketing team on Credentials/Wristbands needed for:
- CAPs
- Spirited Awards Finalists
- Spirited Awards Co-Chairs/Judges
- Assist the Events team:
- Assist in supporting all event logistics & programming onsite
- Act as a “floater” to support various aspects of the events, including managing the Cocktail Tour sign ins
- Assist in managing Official Partner deliveries
- Throughout Tales in July, Events intern will:
- Assist in supporting all event logistics onsite, including:
- Ice vendor communications
- Water sponsor communications
- Tasting Room floater
- Manage “lobby” tasting rooms/events, including Cocktail Tour
- Assist Events Coordinator with Meet the Distillers
- Daily check in with Bookstore & Bitters Market manager
- Assist in supporting all event logistics onsite, including:
- Assist the Events team Post-Tales in July for:
- Close out and reporting
- Compost
- Recycling
- Bookstore & Bitters Market
- Hotel final bill
- Overflow Hotel Final Reports
- Close out and reporting
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Assist in planning and executing in-person with local initiatives such as Halfway to Tales, Tales Media Preview, and Jazz Fest (tentatively)

Work Authorization:
