The Campus Engagement Coordinator will support the efforts of the Campus Engagement and Executive Communications team within the Department of University Communications & Marketing. This position will support the planning, coordination, and execution of flagship university events, including Unified Commencement, President’s Convocation, Presidential Speaker Series, New Orleans Book Festival and others as developed. This position will also ensure seamless collaboration across teams and partners while managing internal project tracking, budgets, and workflows.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ability to create detailed events plans, monitor, and report on progress including, milestones and dependencies. Ensure that events plans have minimal disruption of delivery of services; identifies, diagnoses, and resolves bottlenecks and other sub-optimal activity.
• Ability to effectively build, manage and maintain excellent working relationships, both independently and as a member of a team.
• Ability to lead work groups and teams and engage others in developing innovative solutions to important, highly complex strategic and operating problems.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to effectively manage multiple events simultaneously, and consistently meet established deadlines.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills with an ability to comprehensively plan, execute, and evaluate the effectiveness.
• Strong writing, editing, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments.
• Project management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple concurrent events in a fast-paced environment• Proficient computer skills with knowledge of applications applicable to the responsibilities of the position.
Required Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Two years of experience providing administrative or office support, event coordination, program management or program implementation.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in communications or related field
• Experience in marketing and/or communications field
• Experience in Events Planning Field
Compensation Information
This position is classified as “exempt, salaried” and is assigned to pay grade 24.
