Summary
This position is responsible for facilitating the coordination of the Chamber’s annual events. Duties include event planning and coordination, budget management, sponsor solicitation, event registration, volunteer coordination, donation coordination, and vendor management. This position works with Chamber board members, team, Ambassadors, volunteers, event sponsors, and vendors.
This position is responsible for managing all logistics for the Leadership Jefferson Program. Leadership Jefferson is a nine-month program designed to develop a diverse network of dedicated business and community leaders. Facilitated by a professional leadership team, the interactive workshops expose participants to local leaders and activists working to resolve critical issues facing Jefferson Parish. Specific session topics include education, healthcare, quality of life concerns, criminal justice, diversity, community involvement and economic development.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate all aspects of annual signature events including Annual Meeting, Black and Gold Gala, Crawfish Boil, Intercity Trip, Tour De Jefferson, and Golf Classic
- Plan all logistics for the Leadership Jefferson Program
- Manage resources within each event budget and Leadership Jefferson ensuring goals are met
- Identify and build relationships with vendors
- Coordinate event emails, social media, and other marketing efforts with Director of Communications
- Register sponsors for events and coordinate logistics for sponsor deliverables, as needed
- Track and report all invoicing for event attendance and sponsorships
- Responsible for the collection of all outstanding accounts receivables after events and programs
- Organize volunteer positions for each event
- Staff liason to the Special Events Committee
General Responsibilities
- Attend Chamber networking events, as needed
- Assist with and help manage Chamber functions on and off site
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the President
Knowledge and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- 3-5 years of experience in event planning including contract negotiations and reconciliation
- Sales experience preferred
- Demonstrated success in event management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Detail oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Flexibility with schedule and ability to work events during and outside of normal working hours is required
- Ability to work in a team environment and across many positions to achieve the goals of the organization as a whole
