Christon Singleton is a 2006 graduate of the Nicholls Mass Communication program where he majored in Mass Communication with a concentration in print journalism.
Following graduation, he worked as a sports reporter for the Houma Courier and Thibodaux Daily Comet newspapers for 17 years. He has won journalism awards from the Louisiana Sports Writers Association, the Louisiana Press Association and the Louisiana-Mississippi Associated Press Media Editors Awards. He was named the LSWA Sports Writer of the Year in 2019 and the LSWA Prep Writer of the Year in 2008.
