The following scholarships and resources are currently available from outside the university.  These scholarships are not affiliated with the Office of Financial Aid at Nicholls State University or Nicholls State University.  Before you visit the following sites, please read this Scholarship Scam Notice from the Smart Student Guide to Financial Aid.

The Aspiring Legacy Scholarship, offered by Ultimate Asset Protection, aims to help students on their journey toward wealth creation. This $2,500 award, granted twice yearly, recognizes the significant role education plays in professional development and financial success. The Shell Technical Scholarship was created to provide financial and career assistance to graduating high school seniors who have expressed an interest in the energy industry and demonstrated an aptitude in mathematics and science. The National Beta Scholarship Program was designed to help our members realize their full potential by providing financial assistance toward their continued education. Each year the Tuskegee Airmen Scholarship Foundation (TASF) grants scholarship awards to deserving young men and women. The number of scholarship awarded is directly related to income received from Foundation investments. Forty (40) or more awards of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500) are typically available each year. These $1,500 awards are provided on a one-time, first year basis only.  Applicants must be students from accredited high schools who will graduate (or who have graduated) in the spring of their academic cycle. The 2026 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program Application is now open and will close on January 5, 2026 at Noon CST. The purpose of the Technology Addiction Awareness Scholarship is to help you understand the negative effects of too much screen time. The John Lennon Award is an annual competition open to student songwriters and composers of contemporary musical genres including alternative, pop, rock, indie, electronica, R&B, and experimental.  Through the generosity of Ono and Gibson Musical Instruments, three scholarships totaling $20,000 are presented annually for the best original songs submitted to the competition.  The deadline to apply is January 15, 2026.  Apply Now!

Wings Over America Scholarship Foundation annually sponsors a minimum of 50 scholarships to further the postsecondary education of Navy dependents from the aviation community. Scholarships are $5,000 and some are renewable. Scholarships may be used for trade school certification, community college or four-year university/college undergraduate study and may be used for tuition and mandatory fees only at an accredited institution. JOY Literacy Foundation will award scholarships to literacy teachers-in-training. College sophomores and juniors majoring in education with a focus on literacy are invited to apply during the spring semester. The Boeing Scholars program is an initiative of The Boeing Company to develop qualified students for careers in aviation, with a special interest in aeronautical science and aviation maintenance science. The Boeing Scholars program is available to new incoming students and will be selected and notified in early Spring. Please complete the Boeing Scholars application to be considered for the program. Elks National Foundation Legacy Awards are $4000 scholarships available to children and grandchildren of Elks members.  For the 2026 contest, any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the Order on or before April 1, 2023, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2023, is eligible to apply. The Love Your Career Scholarship is open to any student who will be enrolled in a college or University at the time of the next deadline (see dates below). The United States Junior Chamber International (JCI) Senate Foundation will award $1500 or $2000 scholarship grants to graduating high school seniors who will continue their education at an accredited post-secondary college or university. The award is open to graduating high school seniors in the United States, who reside in a state that has an active JCI Senate program and a scholarship chairperson. Looking for financial support for college?  Each year the AFSCME Family Scholarship Program provides ten $2,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors that will be renewed for $2,000 each year for a maximum of four years, provided the student remains enrolled in a full-time course of study. The scholarship may be used for any field of study. At the time of application, be a graduating high school senior whose parent, legal guardian or financially responsible grandparent is a full dues-paying AFSCME member. The scholarship award amount ranges from US $3,000 to $11,000 and supports tuition and fees, course-related expenses, such as fees, books, supplies, and equipment required by your institution.  The 2026 application is open. The Lawntrepreneur Scholarship is our way of funding tomorrow’s top entrepreneurs. Maybe you sowed the seeds of your entrepreneurial spirit by starting a lawn care company in high school. We’re fixing the large and disorganized lawn care industry, and we’re willing to grant $1000 to any student we believe has the potential to change the world through entrepreneurship.
