The Geaux Teach scholarship program, administered by LOSFA, was established to provide scholarships to students who are enrolled in teacher preparation programs or alternate certification programs approved by the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) at postsecondary education institutions within the state. To be eligible, students must: be a United States citizen and if required, registered with the Selective Service; be a Louisiana resident for at least two years prior to July 1 immediately preceding the academic year of enrollment; have at least a 2.50 cumulative GPA; be enrolled full time in an approved teacher preparation program or alternate certification program. The American Association of State Troopers Foundation, Inc. accepts scholarship applications from the dependents of trooper members for assistance with their post-secondary education expenses.
