EDUCATION:
Dr. Katherine Conner earned her Ph.D. from Florida State University, and her M.A. and B.A. from University of Southern Mississippi. Dr. Conner began teaching at Nicholls State University in 2010.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Dr. Conner has published fiction in West Branch, Pembroke Magazine, Willow Springs, Shenandoah, Copper Nickel, Blackbird, Fugue, The Chattahoochee Review, and The Portland Review, amongst other publications. Her work has received recognition such as the Willow Springs Fiction Award, a semi-final placement for the Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction and a semifinalist award for the Mary McCarthy Prize in Short Fiction. She is also a judge for the Jambalaya Writing Award in Terrebonne Parish.
BIO:
At Nicholls, Dr. Conner is an associate professor of English, faculty editor of Gris-Gris: An Online Journal of Literature, Culture, and the Arts. As well as teaching creative writing, Dr. Conner also teaches English 432: Publishing Practicum, and is faculty editor of the Mosaic magazine and faculty advisor of the Creative Writing Club. Dr. Connor enjoys gothic literature, horror films, and cats.
