Communications & Content Specialist

Content Development and Communications: 

  • Develop internal and external communications, including news releases, talking points, scripts, quotes, and other content.
  • Create, curate, and manage content—including text, images, videos, and infographics—for websites, blogs, social media, email campaigns, and other digital platforms.
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent, timely content delivery across all platforms.
  • Prepare communications materials and media reports for monthly board meeting presentations.
  • Create bi-annual archive of media clippings.
  • Utilize the Cision media platform to compile media contact lists, track and compile media coverage daily to assess news value and impact, and generate actionable insights for strategic communications
  • Ensure consistency in content with the brand’s voice and messaging, collaborating closely with the Marketing & Communications team, our marketing/pr agency, and other internal departments to align content with organizational goals.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in digital content and communications.

 

Photography and Visual Content: 

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive photography plan, including photo selection for marketing purposes and maintaining a schedule of photographic opportunities for effective planning.
  • Capture and document key events and initiatives within the building for social media, sales department use, and marketing archives.
  • Collaborate with relevant department to photograph internal events, key initiatives, and employee headshots.
  • Oversee the uploading, organization, and efficient access of photos.
  • Assist in producing PowerPoint slideshows; re-sizing logos and photos; creating online photo galleries; fulfilling photo requests.
  • Utilize visual storytelling techniques to create compelling narratives through photographs and video production for social media

 

Digital Platform Management and Engagement: 

  • Regularly update MCCNO platforms and oversee social media accounts to ensure content accuracy, audience engagement, and positive brand representation.
  • Maintain content calendars, write and schedule posts, and manage interactions with the online community.
  • Develop and implement social media strategies to increase brand awareness, engagement, and traffic.

 

Special Tours and Facility Events: 

  • Manage all aspects of special tours and facility events, including VIP visits and special presentations, from planning through execution; create agendas, planning materials, scripts.
  • Coordinate all logistical aspects of tours and facility events, including securing guest speakers, securing space, arranging food and beverages, parking, and ensuring overall event execution in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Serve as the primary tour guide, utilizing comprehensive knowledge of the building’s features, history, and operations to deliver engaging and informative tours.
  • Consult event calendar to determine tour availability and request access to events as needed; collaborate with internal departments to highlight key features and areas of interest during tours.
  • Maintain and update tour materials, including brochures and maps, and manage feedback to continuously improve tour quality and guest satisfaction.
  • Escort photographers and videographers on shoots as needed.

 

 

Administrative and Internal Support:

  • Maintain inventory, source, obtain pricing, order, and track delivery of promotional items and specialty supplies.
  • Answer phones in a professional and courteous manner, assist callers with requests and/or route calls to the appropriate personnel/department, take complete and accurate messages and communicate in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments to support communication needs, such as advertising opportunities, promotional content, and departmental initiatives.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives as needed to ensure cohesive and effective organizational communication.
  • Assist with setup and teardown of Marketing & Communications events.
  • Serve as backup to the Marketing Technology Coordinator in the use of website, surveys and email marketing tools.
  • Support management with administrative tasks as needed, including arranging rides to off-site events, receiving visitors, or visitor parking.

Qualifications

Experience

 

Preferred

Web Design and Photography experience would be a plus.
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Marketing, Communications, or related field; and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification in digital marketing or social media management preferred. Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing software is a plus.
