Beyond the Pantry
In our ongoing efforts to support students experiencing food insecurity and hunger, we have developed Beyond the Pantry.
This exciting new program focuses on food literacy by teaching students how to cook mostly with ingredients that might be found in Mom’s Pantry and in a manner that creates leftovers that they can use for several meals.
Participants will receive ALL ingredients necessary, a printed recipe card, and a storage container for leftovers in a reusable Nicholls State University Beyond the Pantry bag. Additionally, participants and anyone else interested in the recipe will be able to watch our students in action as they demonstrate how to prepare each meal by linking to the videos on this page or scanning the Q-Code on the recipe cards.
There will be two “events” during the Fall 2020 semester and two during the Spring 2021 semester. Each Beyond the Pantry event will provide for 100 students in need. Requests will be taken two weeks prior to the scheduled dates below. Students must sign up and complete the request form separately for each event.
