Choosing a meal plan:
All students living on campus are required to have a meal plan. The Residential Meal Plan options are designed to meet the needs of any active college student. Students have a choice of three meal plans, each with three different tiers. These provide a guaranteed number of meals per week.
The Vernon Galliano Dining Hall serves 19 meals a week:
- 3 meals a day on Monday through Friday and
- 2 meals a day on Saturday and Sunday.
When choosing a meal plan, consider how many meals a day you like to eat and the number of days a week that you will be dining on campus. You can swipe your card as many times as listed in the meal plan you choose, on whichever day you choose. Your swipes are an allowance for meals, which declines each time you swipe into the cafeteria. Consider the following:
- Galiano Dining Hall Swipes: Choose a plan based on the number of “swipes” or meals you want per week at the Galiano Dining Hall. The number in the plan title indicates the swipes available to you per week, depending on the plan you choose.
- Munch Money: Think of it as your campus debit card! Munch Money is a declining balance allocated for the entire semester. Use it at various on-campus locations, just like you would your debit card. It’s a convenient way to enjoy snacks, drinks, and meals outside of the dining hall.
- Meal Trades: These are extra “swipes” available throughout the semester, usable at different campus spots like Pizza Hut and Chick-fil-A. They do deduct from your weekly Galiano Dining Hall swipes. These will be available for the approved meal trades list (provided by Sodexo).
- Cost/Rates: These rates listed are per semester, not per academic year.
- Brady/Bronze Plans: The Brady Declining balance plan still requires 60 earned credit hours, while the Bronze 5 requires 30 earned credit hours. You can only select these if you are living in the Brady Apartment Complex and meet the credit hour requirement.
The difference between the Silver and Gold packages is not in the number of meals but in the amount of Munch Money included with the plan. Munch Money can be used to purchase food and beverages at our on-campus dining locations such as the Colonels Retreat, The Grid, and The C-Store.
The Bronze Meal Plan and the Declining Balance Plan are available only to Brady residents.
To change your chosen meal plan, please first log into your Nicholls gmail account. Then, CLICK HERE for the Meal Plan Change Request Form. Meal Plan requests are accepted until the 10th day of classes.
